An advertisement at the beginning announces that the translation was made from the Edition of 1675 ;that it had already appeared in a publication of the day ;and that it was then reprinted in compliance with the suggestion of many persons who wished to possess it simply as a devotional work, apart from its controversial bearings. This very brief preface, dated on the Feast of All Saints, is signed with the well-known initials J. H. N.
