In this volume, Robert Doran completes his three volume work The Trinity in History, aimed at showcasing the relevance of the doctrine of the Trinity in concrete history. Volume 1: Missions and Processions and Volume 2: Missions, Relations, and Persons set up as basic terms and relations the Four Point Hypothesis and the structural intelligibility of history. These constitute the unified field structure for systematic theology organized and integrated in the scale of values. Specifically, in this third volume, in addition to the analytic and synthetic steps toward theological understanding, Doran proposes a more concrete and more comprehensive theological synthesis grounded in the impact of the Trinity in history, what he calls for want of a better term “the way of genetic advance.”
