For those who enjoy quality essays and historical features of a local nature, Paul Bentley has put together his eighth compilation of such writings. Within the pages of The Torrington & T.H.S. Facebook Posts, he’s assembled 51 of his social media posts with the common theme of "Torrington," his hometown. All of these article-like posts are new, and several are lengthy. To complement the original posts, there are numerous responses and approximately 250 photos. The vast majority of the photos have never been seen before by the general public. By including the original responses to his posts, Bentley has broken new literary ground and created a unique type of oral history. The effect is a widened landscape, a far ranging diversity of local experience and opinion. Bentley is a firm believer that the artist should have a solid grounding in "place" and that the art itself reflects that sense of locale. He achieves that goal, once again, with masterful and one-of-a-kind results.
