He blackmails Alex, who is an old university colleague, into taking the position of Finance Minister in the Greek government to help him deliver his plan. The troika has chosen one of the most celebrated days in the Greek calendar year, October 28th ‘Ochi Day’, (‘No’ day, the day in 1940 when Greece said no to Mussolini and stood up to fight the Italians instead of surrendering) to announce to the world their scheme, at the annual Bilderberg meeting taking place at the Astir Palace Hotel on the Athens Riviera. Unbeknown to them a military coup sponsored by MI6 has also been planned to take place during the ‘Ochi Day Parade’ on the same day. Alex teams up with Gitta, his CIA handler, and working with the CIA’s Balkan Office in Langley, the Athens Station Chief Chris Horsman, and Michelle Devereaux a Mossad agent, they race against time in an attempt to thwart the raping of the Aegean Sea, save Europe from plunging into economic darkness and prevent a Turkish invasion of Greece’s precious islands in the eastern Aegean.
