Tourists and other friends of Ndi Igbo can pick up this book and teach themselves the language without much external assistance. A look at their adequate translation of the English words, added to the depicting imagery which serves as a road map to a complete understanding of the dictum, projects this book as an excellent Igbo learning book of our time. To Ndi Igbo who seem to be losing their language, this book beckons on you to trace back your root. You do not need to be in Igboland to speak Igbo. It is your identity at home and abroad, an identity God has given you just as he has given to others. I believe the years of ignorance of gentile psycho-manipulations are over, and we truly need to start looking at ourselves the way we were made. Let us not allow the cultural imperialism in the context of the superpower status of English Language to remain potent in our continued existence. It is sad to note that Igbo Language and Culture, which recorded modest gain in the past, has been in limbo since the death of its founder and foremost exponent, F.C. Ogbalu, in 1989. Let me borrow the words of Jawaharlal Nehru in rounding off this forward: "A language is something infinitely greater than grammar and philology. It is the poetic testament of a race and culture and the living embodiment of the thoughts and fancies that molded them." This Igbo book is worth reading for every Igbo student and lovers of Igbo culture. The authors of "Suo Asusu Igbo Taa" are highly commended for taking Igbo people back to basics, a foundation which is important for the true understanding of the language.
