'Puppy Palooza In A Pandemic' is a story about Ralphie and his mom‘s adventures during the Global Pandemic in 2020. The story takes place at the beginning of the pandemic and follows their journey until when they were able to go back to school. The Puppy Palooza of 9 foster puppies at one time brings lots of smiles to keep Ralphie very busy during his time away from his friends and school. There were many foster puppies that Ralphie was able to help with his Mom and him being safely at home during the initial phase of the Pandemic. This is a lighthearted book on the current pandemic from a child’s perspective, it touches on fostering dogs, rescue work and Pups but mostly it really touches on a child’s view of their life during this bizarre time in our country. This is the second book about fostering experiences and adventures for Ralphie and his mom. This book includes some real life pictures of the puppies that Ralphie and his Mom were able to help as well as some pictures of Ralphie's fur brothers CAMO and CaBoose. Ralphie takes you with him as he misses his friends, tackles virtual school, finds the joys of more time with his family at home, experiences the uneasiness of such a bizarre time facing a pandemic, the excitement and anxiety of going back to school with a mask and the adventures helping so many foster pups. This story has many talking points for caregivers and parents as they navigate this uncertain time as well as kindness, doing for others, all emotions are okay, blended and multiracial families, finding a smile each day, taking care of a puppy and finding a way to help and give back. Ralphie is a fictional character that the author uses to share her stories from a child’s point of view to share with readers some of the fostering journeys she had since beginning fostering dogs and puppies beginning in December 2012. The shared stories as in 'Puppy Palooza In A Pandemic' are very non-fiction based on actual foster puppies that have been helped. However, Ralphie is a fictional character to depict the story from a child’s perspective. The hope of this book is to put in print a child's journey during this time as well what a gift it is to be able to help others who need it. Ralphie and his family benefit from giving back to lost pups and puppies that need a hero and supporting rescues that help them find a family perfect for them.
