Ideas do not assimilate so easily as the different food-materials in the body. Ideas have to be put side by side, compared, separated, grouped, and arranged into connected series. Thus they become organized for use. This sorting, ar ranging, and connecting of ideas is so important that it demands more time and more care than the first labor of acquisition.
