A contemporary book, designed to cover curriculum and home schooling need of Phonetics and Spellings Scholars. This book presents a systematic approach to spelling by highlighting the link between phonetics and spelling. It underpins spelling to the right sounds. The key features are summarized with the acronym P.R.E.S.S. Phonetics - detailed explanation of the English phonetic sounds, with several example. Rules – deals with the fundamental determinant of choice of letters for a particular speech sound. Exception – words that do not follow the basic rules, including non-phonetic words. Sounds – the basic sound of letters and its blending with others, even when they appear in unstressed syllables and need to be pronounced with the schwa sound. Spellings – the alternative spelling of different speech sounds to facilitate the right choice of grapheme, including how to add suffixes.Book 6 is a summary+ of all the topics treated in the series, it begins with ‘spelling rules’ and concludes with a pronunciation guide.
