Developing Attention Skills in Preschoolers through Fine Art Program: Early Childhood Education
Many children in their preschool age have poor attention skills. These children usually pay less attention to the teacher’s instructions; they do have more difficulty to stay focused, stay on task and to complete their assignments. Fine arts, as a fun program can help children to pay more attention to the instructions, and stay more on task. Fine arts can be used as an inclusive and accommodating tool to develop attention skills in more preschoolers at different developmental stages and with different learning capabilities. Using interest and active engagement of children, parental involvement, and teachers’ efforts, children would become more attentive, responsive, motivated, and in return, better learners.
