Taking letters and blending them together to form words is an important step in learning to read. After a learner has learned the sound of the letters of the alphabet they can be taught how to blend those letter sounds together to read words. Once a learner has learned to sound out and blend sounds their decoding skills will improve and they will become better readers. The LiteracyOne phonics blending books will help teachers and tutors teach struggling readers how to blend sounds together to form words. Each book focuses on one short vowel sound. They contain simple CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words that are easy to sound out and read. They also have an image for each word so the learner will have a picture clue to guess what the word is.
