This Silver Jubilee Edition of the ACVR Annual Report covers the many aspects of the six-month-long celebration of the institute’s twenty-fifth anniversary, including the naming of the Elton J. Bruins Library; an art exhibition, Seeing Through Dutch Eyes: Landscape Images of Chris Stoffel Overvoorde; the production of Vision of a New Life, a play by Max Bush; the release of a two-volume history: Hope College at 150: Anchored in Faith, Educating for Leadership and Service in a Global Society, by Jacob E. Nyenhuis et alii, (Van Raalte Press, 2019); and much more. The centerpiece of this report is a comprehensive chronology from the endowment of the institute by Peter H. Huizenga of Waste Management in January 1993 to the appointment of Elton J. Bruins as founding director to the directorship of Jacob E. Nyenhuis in 2002 and his founding of the Van Raalte Press in 2007 to the assumption by Donald A. Luidens of the directorship in October 2019, with Jacob E. Nyenhuis continuing as editor-in-chief of the VRPress. Every senior research fellow has also contributed a report covering their work at the VRI from January 2018 through July 2019.
