Organise en huit chapitres, elle prsente successivement : - Les origines de la psychothrapie humaniste, l'approche centre sur la personne (ACP) et la pr-thrapie. - Le dbat interne la psychothrapie humaniste qui s'tablit entre deux visions contradictoires : l'une positive et l'autre, tragique/existentielle. - Les apports des recherches sur la "cognition incarne" (embodied cognition) dans des domaines allant de la motricit l'motion. - Les techniques psychocorporelles "semi-structures" (grounding...) et "structures" (EMDR...). - Les approches centres sur les motions (Gestalt-thrapie, Psychothrapie gestaltiste des relations d'objet (PGRO), Focusing...). - Les tats de conscience modifis (hypnose, exprience de mort imminente...), les concepts de la psychothrapie transpersonnelle et le modle psychothrapeutique de la psychosynthse. - Une rflexion clinique centre sur les processus et sur les formes de la narrativit dans la vision humaniste/existentielle. - Six vignettes cliniques visant illustrer concrtement le travail clinique d'orientation humaniste selon les diffrentes sensibilits.
